Effectively Using the Internet
By admin | November 26, 2010
Today everyone from a two year old to one hundred and two years old have all learned to navigate the Internet to some extent. Most of us can find out favorite search engine and weed through the many levels to find the root of the things that we are after. However, there is a lot more that can be gotten from the Internet if you take the time to learn your search engine and your browser and you take the time to actually use some intelligence when surfing and searching.
Take things like getting a Green Card for example. Most of us just assume that you take the US citizenship exam and you get a green card. The fact of the matter is that you need to do a lot of research. I would hazard a guess that if 50 people who were born here took the US citizenship exam as a test at least forty five of them would fail and be denied the opportunity to be a citizen. And of the five that passed, at least two of them would likely not follow the time table and procedures needed to keep that green card and would end up with an expired green card. So by the numbers, I would guess between 5 and 6 percent of the people living here actually know enough about the country, according to what the government wants, to be able to pass the US citizenship exam and become or stay a US citizen.
That might be an effective way to thin out the population of the greatest country on the planet but it should also scare some folks. When all that is really required is some targeted Internet searches and you can find all of the information that you need to be able to have the knowledge to pass the US citizenship test and get your green card. All of the data that you need and more than you need if you are someone that likes to learn. In fact once you learn to use the Internet effectively, you might find that learning takes on a whole new life and you might actually enjoy finding out things about many things that you never even knew existed.
It is called the World Wide Web because every where that you go you find a link that leads you to another destination, much like a spiders web. The good part about this is that you can find anything that you want if you are persistent. The bad part about it is that it is very easy to get side tracked and lose sight of what you started to look for at the beginning. In other words you need to try hard to stay focused on what you are after.
So whether you are studying for the US citizenship exam for your green card or looking to find out about the spider you just saw in the kitchen, any of that information is only a few licks of the mouse and a couple key strokes away using the Internet correctly.
